Singapore has a smoking ban in public places. The NUS and NTU universities are also designated as smoke-free campuses. Smoking is prohibited within the campus.
Singapore is located near the equator. Average temperature is about 30-32°C in July, and most of the time the weather is hot and humid. Occasionally, there is heavy rainfall during the day. Accommodation for Jury/Observer members, the Jury Room, science laboratories and examination hall are air-conditioned, typically around 23-25°C. Some however, may occasionally feel the need for a light cardigan or jacket, especially when indoors for long periods.
